A well toned back is an asset, be it for a man or a woman. Shedding weight off the back is a bit tricky though, since it is not that easily visible to us. Given below are a few exercises to get rid of back fat.

Swimming is one of the most effective ways for losing fat from any part of the body, particularly the back. During the swim, try including the different swim strokes so that the back muscles are given a good workout. Each swim stroke works on a different muscle group, so try alternating them helping you tone the entire back.

Pull-Ups. This is a good way of toning the shoulders, arms and upper back muscles. You need a pull-up bar. Use the ones that come with rubber suction cups at the ends. You can perform the pull-ups with a narrow grip, wide grip, Kipping, Inward palm position or outward palm position.

Yoga is another great way for not only toning the back but also strengthening it. Yoga postures work directly on the back muscles, giving it a lean look. The exercises or asanas, as they are called, that are most recommended are Surya namaskara or the sun salutation, Bhujangasana or the cobra pose, Balasana or the Child pose and Urdhva Mukha Svanasana or the upward dog pose.

Kickboxing is another great exercise to get rid of back fat. This along with punching bag exercises effectively targets the back muscles, thus reducing the excess fat. If you visit the gym regularly, then do go in for back-lifts, seated cable rows, upright rows, chest press and seated reverse fly.

So these are a few of the methods and exercises to get rid of back fat.
