  3. phattube7 on April 30th, 2010 8:14 pm

is this what cross fit does to the women.. makes them look like butch lesbians?

  4. psizzle22 on April 30th, 2010 8:30 pm

This form and technique is horrid. Crossfit is a great cardio workout with resistance/endurance training involved, but a lot of people do it with such bad form that your body is actually suffering, even if you are losing weight and getting stronger. And this is all coming from someone who occasionally does a Crossfit workout. Feel free to respond to this post in 20 years if you disagree.

he just set it on his foot what a noob

  7. madspliced on April 30th, 2010 10:05 pm

Uhhh. Jumping with weights is a NO NO!!!!!! This cross fit shit IS A JOKE!!!!!!! THE WORST FORM OF WEIGHT LIFTING YOU CAN DO THE WORST WAY TO ABUSE YOUR HEALTHY BODY.

  8. strengthcoachny on April 30th, 2010 10:57 pm

its MORE sports specific than a power lift WHEN you jump. A BS in Kinesiology, D1A Football Experience, and 3 years of pro ball. all of my strength coaches shared the same philosophy.

A more appropriate title for this video:
What not to do with a pair of dumbbells

  10. grambo22 on April 30th, 2010 11:33 pm

@strengthcoachny how are DB cleans a sport specific exercise? In a clean, when the feet leave the ground, you cannot exert power on the barbell nor pull yourself under faster (the two ways to express power in the clean). If you want more explosive power, you do heavy cleans for single reps. These guys are doing a conditioning workout, so maybe jumping doesn’t matter. Still, shrugging up is a misunderstanding of oly lifting by CrossFit.

    @ghost187x too easy. hooah.

  12. strengthcoachny on May 1st, 2010 1:05 am

@grambo22 you cant be serious. idk if you’ve participated sports, but the leaving the ground increases explosion. this is not power lifting, it more sports specific training. Just as lifting makes you stronger, the jump makes you a more explosive athlete. No, you dont “need; to shrug, but the shrug adds a little more work to the traps, and also increases the “total’ body factor of the workout. as an athlete, you use your total body in sports specific movements.

  13. grambo22 on May 1st, 2010 1:42 am

You don’t shrug the weight up in a clean, you pull under. With DB’s there is no point in doing a shrug since hip extension will elevate the DB’s. Also no point in leaving the ground with your feet.

I’m reading this and thinking to myself you can’t really be serious…o_0

  15. Mehandstuff on May 1st, 2010 1:58 am

who needs form just push yourself with bad form as much as possible crossfit is truely the best

  16. ghost187x on May 1st, 2010 2:20 am

that skank has 2 much weight. use some logic. crossfit is cool, but be safe when you conduct the crossfit training. to ez right?

  17. Valkyrie1911 on May 1st, 2010 2:48 am

I was all set to post back that you were an idiot when I read the last 2 points…nice sarcasm there..lol. Actually the workout itself isn’t bad if done correctly…

  18. SibbsVicious on May 1st, 2010 3:42 am

    @arsalanmasud

you shouldnt put bodybuilding and crossfit side by side bruddah…. bodybuilding is gay…. crossfit is awesome. you should focus on being less of a dildo.

  19. LilbitLoczy on May 1st, 2010 4:06 am

I’m not going to comment on whether the workout is any good as I’m not a PT and I don’t know anything about crossfit – I came across this clip looking for kettlebell workouts.

What I am going to say though is everytime that women performs a plyometric squat it makes me cringe, being someone who has suffered major ligament damage to my knee, I can just see it’s an accident waiting to happen!

  20. seventyfive1 on May 1st, 2010 4:38 am

Don’t listen to the haters, this is a great workout. There are 3 major tricks to getting ripped:

    1) Weight is more important than form. Push yourself!
    2) Lots of jumping and deep bends are good for the joints. You need to toughen them up. The tougher the joints, the more you can lift.
    3) Throw your weights when your’e done. The harder you throw them the bigger you’ll get. Plus it makes you look cool.

Whats worse is the coach is cheering them on telling them good job when they are risking injury.

  22. thamilton39 on May 1st, 2010 5:16 am

In the words of coach, and I’m paraphrasing….when you tackle something really effing hard, “you might spill your tea” ….my hat’s off to them. That’s horsepower. When you get freakin exhausted, your form is gonna suffer. All you people criticizing just keep right on doin your bicep curls in front of the mirror…crossfit ain’t for you!

  23. scnarb on May 1st, 2010 6:07 am

The dude’s form is mostly ok (till round 5) but the chick’s form is atrocious. Wayyy too much weight for either of them.

  24. 420Sabbath on May 1st, 2010 6:11 am

what the fuck is this shit? that chick had terrible form… this is just dangerous, don’t say ‘niiiice’ when they’ve done something awful. Fuck, they give any old boso a job these days.

  25. jeromeo15 on May 1st, 2010 7:08 am

This looks dangerous. I’d want to stay at least 5 feet from the person next to me!

Got something to say?
