Change Your Body Compostion Fast

A question I often get in my line of work is how you can build an attractive and well toned body in the shortest amount of time. The people who ask me this question are not people who want a bodybuilders or models physique, they just want to look healthy and toned and if this is your goal you can achieve it in 3-4 months, obviously depending on the state of your current body.

First of all you want to get your fat percentage as low as possible. A lot of people think that if you do high reps in the gym you will become toned and that low reps are more of a muscle builder, this is a total myth. The only factor when it comes to getting more toned is how low your fat percentage is, of course the more muscle you have the more striations will show.

Therefore the first thing you want to do in your quest for a healthy looking and toned body is to eat less calories than you burn on a daily basis. You want to get your diet in check and make sure that you are getting all the right nutrients and vitamins you need. Vitamins are especially important if you are not used to working out and will keep your energy levels and your immune system up, even though you stress the body more than it is used to.

The second step of the process is starting to do some sort of muscle activating training 3-4 times a week. It doesn’t necessarily have to be weight lifting even though this is one of the activities that you can use to achieve the fastest results. If you chose to weight train make sure you get a qualified instructor to show you the exercises you need to perform. You can also choose to join a crossfit class, martial arts class, dance class etc. You also want to do some sort of strictly cardiovascular workout 1-2 times a week. If you start on this regimen and you keep committed to both your diet and training for 3 full months you are almost guaranteed to have a very healthy looking body at the end of this period.

Make sure you perform all the exercises correctly so you avoid injuries, they are both painful and will sidetrack you from the gym for a long time.
