July 2, 2010 · Print This Article
2009 CrossFit Games in Aromas, California. This was the 2nd Event on the day. In10 minutes you were to perform 20 deadlifts. With the weight starting at 315 lbs. going up to 505 lbs. you would do a lift every 30 seconds until you could not lift the bar. Once you lifted the bar, your body was to reach the full upright position, knees and hips full extension/locked out, then you could drop the bar. Going into this event my current deadlift max was 470 lbs. www.rhsportfit.com

@sakelee like to see you do better
Very impressive work. Probably one of the most entertaining crossfit vids I’ve watched.
yeah man, i would love to be in one of those events for sure. thats a really, really cool competition. tons of super strong guys and tons of competition. im sure i will in the future. cheers
I agree that rounding isn’t advisable..yet considering the nature of this event* and a new max fully locked, who’s to say its not permissible? Lets appreciate the beauty of his orchestrated mechanical unison and application of strength in each lift and be glad he did it without fancy schmancy triple-ply space suits belts or straps.
capable, yes. more prone to injury, yes. its basic physiology, the back is not supposed to pull that “godly” amount of weight in such form.
ask any good coach if an athete should lift with a rounded back.
cant believe there is even a disagreement here. this is a no brainer…
@sakelee everyone’s physiological structure is different and his ability to lock, in succession, that godly amount of weight 100% raw is proof of superior lower/mid back development as well higher soft tissue/bone density. if his lifting style rounds out a bit while maintaining 100% health, by all means because he is capable of these lifts.
you obviously dont know the importance of proper form. go read” starting strength” and get back to me. i am trying to help him prevent injury, not take away from his performance.
and please dont throw a fit. internet arguments are rediculous. good day
you are really strong! plus your form is all raw power which adds to the pure athleticism. much respect and props in your dedicated training.
@sakelee if this machine of a human is capable of completing the feat we just witnessed here, im sure he knows what hes doing and does not need your insipid comment, regardless of his lifting form/style of choice. why don’t u post some 400+ lbs pulls before making such posts. 5* ‘s
you are really strong, but your form isnt too great. your back was arching like a bananna : o
not dissing you, just saying be careful man thats some heavy ass weight to be having a curved back with
thats amazing how you PR’d by that much consider all the weights leading up to that. was it the adrenaline? or what
470 was previously before this event, my new max became 505
good job, whats your max?
those were the rules… wouldnt have made a difference if i went back to the ground with them anyways
you’re a beast!!!!!!!!!!!
